This 70% dark chocolate bar is crafted with the goal of fusing together fine, organic cacao and exceptional, double-malt whiskey. Using the intricate flavor profile of "Duality Double Malt Whiskey", a Double Gold Medal winning whiskey from Atlanta-based distiller, American Spirit Works, as their starting point, they selected their organic, Ugandan cacao nibs as the best flavor partner to this wonderful, double-malt whiskey.
First soaked in ASW's award-winning whiskey, then aged in whiskey barrels, the cacao nibs absorb notes of honey, toffee, stone fruit, and light smoke, creating a rich, layered flavor profile. We then add a bit of organic cane sugar and touch of organic cocoa butter during our grinding stage--no other flavor ingredients--resulting in a satisfyingly rich, dark chocolate bar with hints of fine whiskey.

Inspired by local chocolate makers in Costa Rica, Elaine & Matt flew back to Atlanta with bags packed full of Costa Rican cacao and spent the next year developing recipes, refining technique and reaching out to source raw cacao from different origins to highlight the ranging diversity of flavor naturally inherent in fine cacao. By late 2014, they opened a small micro-factory and retail store at the Krog Street Market and quickly became Atlanta's bean-to-bar craft chocolate company.
