The idea for making artisinal oils came about years ago when fuel prices began to soar. Initially looking into alternative fuels, Clay started researching the benefits, uses and production methods of plant-based oils, eventually deciding to try his hand at creating cold pressed oils. In 2012, Clay grew his first crop of sunflowers for oil production and by the end of 2012 he had pressed oil from sunflowers, pecans, and peanuts -- all grown in Wilcox County. More oils followed and Oliver Farm Artisan Oils quickly caught the attention of chefs and foodies.
