Fresh Crowder Peas, a cherished Southern delight, are known for their creamy texture and hearty, nutty flavor. They boast a robust, plump oval shape and are nestled tightly together within their pods, hinting at the cozy comfort they bring to any dish. Often simmered to a tender finish, these peas can be infused with the smoky essence of ham hocks or bacon, enhancing their savory depth. They shine in traditional recipes like Hoppin’ John, succotash, or stewed with a blend of aromatic spices. Crowder Peas are not only a taste of home-style cooking but also offer a wealth of nutrients including protein, fiber, and essential minerals, making them a wholesome addition to your plate.

About the Producer
Mitch Lawson's farm, located on the fertile flood plains of the Oostanuala River in Northwest Georgia, has been growing certified organic produce since 2004. Very few other Georgia farms have such a longstanding tenure of organic certification. The 30 acres under cultivation is a lot to manage, but Mitch and his team make it look easy! Growing from only 2 acres back in the mid 2000's, Rise 'N Shine now produces over 40 types of organic fruits and veggies each year. Explore >
