All proceeds from these sales go to funding the Share the Harvest program. The program is centered around providing fresh produce to our refugee neighbors in Clarkston, GA. The main way our customers donate to the market is by donating their entire basket on weeks when they would otherwise skip their order. However, if you'd like to donate even on weeks you'll still receive a basket, add this product to your account and the full amount will go to the Share the Harvest Program.
Share the Harvest:
Clarkston is a refugee resettlement town and has been called the most diverse square mile in America. Located and living here, job creation has become a large part of who we are, as refugees make up over 58% of the FH team. We also want to ensure the amazing produce that passes through our hands doesn't bypass our neighbors. That sense of responsibility has evolved into our weekly Share the Harvest Market in the heart of Clarkston. As a Fresh Harvest customer, you enable us to subsidize the same local, organic produce you receive in your baskets to a level that makes it fully accessible to those around us. Finances, transportation, language barriers are no longer obstacles to healthy food options.
At Fresh Harvest we prioritize working with local producers and upholding our sourcing standards. To curate the best quality and quantity of produce we will sometimes pull from a variety of producers. We look to other growing regions for those items that are impossible or difficult to consistently grow well in our region. Any produce coming from out-of-state will be clearly labelled with it's place of origin.
