Thanksgiving doesn’t have to be all fatty foods!

Warm Tatsoi and Romaine Heart Salad

Prep Time: 10 minutes  |  Cook Time: 20-15 minutes  |  Serves: 2-4


  • 1 bunch of Tatsoi
  • 1 head of Romaine hearts
  • 1 cup of chopped shitake mushrooms
  • 1 half cup quick pickled radishes (can be made by soaking sliced radishes in garlic rice vinegar overnight)
  • Sliced almonds
  • Diced seasonal fruit (persimmon is an excellent choice)
  • Garlic finely chopped
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper


  1. In a large bowl combine tatsoi leaves, romaine hearts and mushrooms in a large bowl. Season with salt, pepper, olive oil and garlic.
  2. On high heat pan sear the tatsoi and romaine hearts, until leaves are wilted.
  3. As leaves are cooking pour some of the radish brine into the pan for extra flavor.
  4. Top salad with radishes, fruit and slice almonds and serve.
