Mom’s Meatloaf

(well, really her mother)

This is actually my mom’s recipe. She used to make it every Valentine’s Day in the shape of a heart. For real. <3

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs of lean ground beef
  • 1 c dry bread crumbs and 1 1/4 cup milk OR 3 slices of bread, torn into pieces and 1 c of milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 small onion, chopped (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1 T Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 t salt
  • 1/2 t dry mustard
  • 1/4 t pepper
  • 1/4 t ground sage

Prep Time
15 minutes

Cook Time
1.5 hour

Serves
6-8

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350F.

Step 2
Mix all ingredients. Put into an ungreased loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3.

Step 3
Cook uncovered for about 90 min.

Step 4
Can also shape into 2 smaller loaves and put 1-2 inches apart in a larger pan for shorter cooking time.

Notes

*Goes great with veggies and mashed potatoes!
