Blueberries, with their deep indigo hue and delicate, dusky bloom, offer a burst of refreshingly sweet yet subtly tart flavor. These small, orb-shaped berries have a smooth skin that encases juicy flesh and tiny, unobtrusive seeds. Ideal for snacking, blueberries are a popular addition to smoothies, yogurts, oatmeal, baked goods, and salads, as well as sauces and compotes that accompany both sweet and savory dishes. They are celebrated not only for their delightful taste but also for being rich in antioxidants, vitamins C and K, and dietary fiber, which supports overall health and wellbeing.
The Byne Blueberry Farm started in 1980 when Dick Byne planted 15 acres of blueberries on land passed down through the Byne family for five generations. It is now one of the oldest organic blueberry farms in the United States.
