The Red King Daikon Radish stands out with its vibrant, ruby-red skin and elongated, cylindrical shape. Beneath the eye-catching exterior lies a crisp, snow-white flesh that offers a satisfying crunch and a flavor profile that balances peppery zing with a mild, earthy sweetness. Larger than many radish varieties, it can be equally enjoyed raw, thinly sliced for a color-rich addition to salads and slaws, or roasted to bring out its natural sugars and mellow the spice. It is an excellent choice for pickling or as a dynamic garnish for sushi plates and tacos. This striking radish variant brings not just color and zest to your meals, but also furnishes a source of vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants.
Paul and Lindsey Sorah started Hearts of Harvest farm with their friends Mark and Stephanie Golden back in 2017. They started out on 2 acres of land in Arnoldsville, Georgia and have since expanded to over a hundred, where they grow a wide range of vegetables, mushrooms, and flowers. A fun fact about Paul and Mark is that before starting the farm, they were in the same progressive hard rock band. There's a lot of musical talent on this farm!
