Roxbury Russet Apples, America's oldest apple cultivar, are esteemed for their rich history and balanced flavor. With a rugged, russeted skin that ranges from greenish-gold to warm bronze, these medium-sized apples offer a crisp bite and a distinctive texture. The creamy white flesh is known for a pleasant mix of sweetness and acidity, with hints of nuttiness. Roxbury Russet Apples shine in both raw and cooked forms; they are perfect for snacking, making cider, or baking into classic desserts like pies and crumbles. When bitten into, the dense flesh releases a burst of juice, making it a satisfying and refreshing choice for apple lovers.
At Fresh Harvest we prioritize working with local producers and upholding our sourcing standards. To curate the best quality and quantity of produce we will sometimes pull from a variety of producers. We look to other growing regions for those items that are impossible or difficult to consistently grow well in our region. Any produce coming from out-of-state will be clearly labelled with it's place of origin.
