Thai Chili Peppers, often called Bird's Eye chilies, boast a vibrant red or green hue and an elongated, slender shape. These diminutive yet fiery peppers punch well above their weight, delivering an intensely spicy kick characteristic of many Thai and Southeast Asian dishes. Averaging just 1 to 2 inches in length, their small size belies the explosive heat they bring to salsas, marinades, stir-fries, and curries. Beyond the heat, they impart a subtle fruity undertone, enhancing the overall flavor profile of the culinary creations they grace. Typically used fresh, minced, or sliced, Thai Chili Peppers can also be dried for a more concentrated heat. While adding zest to any recipe, they also provide vitamin C, boosting immunity and contributing to overall health.
Just a few minutes down the road from the Fresh Harvest office and warehouse, there's a small piece of property on a pond in the woods. Farmer Cody Burnett faithfully manages the cultivation of this land with his team of farmhands from the Clarkston community. Together they plant and harvest an inordinate amount of organically grown produce, both for Fresh Harvest customers and for the Share the Harvest Market in Clarkston. Growing culturally relevant food for refugees from around the world means that the Fresh Harvest Garden looks a bit different than most Georgia farms, and we wouldn't have it any other way.
