‘Griene Tsiis’ is pronounced ‘Green Cheese’ in Frisian. Working Cows award-winning farmstead cheese is flavored with a traditional Dutch blend of celery, celery leaf, chives, garlic, and onion. Made from Certified Grass Fed, Organic whole milk from cows who spend their entire lives outdoors grazing our green pastures in southeastern Alabama. Farmstead cheese is a versatile ingredient that will keep for months when properly stored, as the flavors continue to develop.

For 15 years Working Cows Dairy operated as a traditional commercial dairy farm. Following traditional methods we were milking as many as 700 cows 3 times a day. The more we thought about what we where doing, the less happy we were with the practices of traditional dairy farming.
In July 2006 we decided to go organic. We were tired of the traditional dairy system. The competition for low prices forced us to use methods that we felt produced milk stripped of many of its natural benefits. The three year process of going organic allowed us to rethink our processes and shift our focus to producing high quality GMO-free milk from grass fed cows.
Working Cows is still the only Certified Organic , 100% certified Grass fed, Animal Welfare Approved, A2, no vaccines closed herd in the SE. Processing all our milk on the farm into: Raw milk (for Pet consumption only by state law) pasteurized Whole Milk, Chocolate Milk, heavy cream, butters and lots of different Cheeses.
