Komatsuna, often referred to as Japanese mustard spinach, boasts glossy, deep green leaves with a tender yet robust texture. Its flavor profile is a balance of gentle mustard tang and a mild, sweet taste reminiscent of spinach. With its broad and sturdy stems supporting the succulent leaves, Komatsuna is a culinary chameleon thriving in a variety of dishes. It can be stir-fried, steamed, pickled, or enjoyed raw in salads, adding a nutritional punch with its wealth of vitamins A, C, and K, as well as calcium. This versatile leafy green is cherished as much for its pleasantly subtle bitter notes as for its vibrant color and nutritional value, making it a delightful addition to any health-conscious kitchen.

About the Producer
Just a few minutes down the road from the Fresh Harvest office and warehouse, there's a small piece of property on a pond in the woods. Farmer Cody Burnett faithfully manages the cultivation of this land with his team of farmhands from the Clarkston community. Together they plant and harvest an inordinate amount of organically grown produce, both for Fresh Harvest customers and for the Share the Harvest Market in Clarkston. Growing culturally relevant food for refugees from around the world means that the Fresh Harvest Garden looks a bit different than most Georgia farms, and we wouldn't have it any other way. Explore >
