An Honest Note From Our Founder: The Summer Struggle You May Not See

The peaches are ripe and the baseball gloves are coming out. The van’s getting loaded up and the salty breeze is calling your name. We’re there folks. It’s officially summertime. If you’re new to summer at Fresh Harvest, welcome. If you’re arriving around the sun for the 12th time with us, bless you.  You’re all so deeply needed this time of year, and the summer of 2025 might be the most critical yet.

Summer is a time of travels and strange schedules, however, it’s also when our farmers have the highest volume of awesome summer produce coming out of their fields. And I’m going to let you in on a little secret. Fresh Harvest is nothing without our farmers and artisans. Without them, we’re just a bright green box on your porch. Therefore, it’s a crucial time for us to show them our support. We want every tomato to have a home this summer. Click twice, save a life. Tomatoes are everywhere.

Here’s how we’ve committed to making local shopping easier for you:

We’ve made shopping more convenient by giving you more time to add groceries and summer produce to your order each week. There are so many items we’re now able to get super fresh throughout the week that we want you to be able to experience. Save a trip to the grocery store and add that last minute loaf of bread you were needing.

Guess what groceries aren’t affected by tariffs? Groceries that are grown, harvested, crafted and created in the great state of Georgia. You’re a part of a local food community, not a global food system, and the global food system can’t touch this. Our supply chain at Fresh Harvest proved throughout the pandemic that it was stable in the midst of so many unknowns. Let’s show off this summer and prove the resiliency of the local food movement by supporting our local farmers when they need it most.

As we build great relationships with our suppliers, we’re always aiming to make Fresh Harvest more affordable for as many of our neighbors as possible. There are many benefits of working with the same suppliers year after year, and one of them is more stable and transparent pricing for summer produce. Unlike the evidence that many large corporations were exploiting the bird flu crisis to gouge prices, you may have seen our recent price drop for eggs. And we’re always looking for opportunities to lower prices where we can.

Every delivery, every item, every bite matters.  Thank you for choosing to care about where your food comes from. We couldn’t do this without you!
